On 30th December 2008, a decree about the Special Suwałki Economic Area, issued by the Council of Ministers became final and valid. The area has been enlarged by a new zone in Białystok. The lands destined for new investments cover the area of about 30 ha. Bidding procedures will begin soon, aiming at selecting entrepreneurs that will run their businesses in the Special Suwałki Economic Area. All the companies that buy lands within the Area and fulfil the criteria, will be granted permission for tax allowance up to 70% of capital expenditure incurred.
